today at fashion week there were fabulous fashions coming from designers such as nicholas k, bcbmaxazria, and tadashi shoji.

from what i observed in tadashi shoji’s show he used some sheer fabrics and what looked like velvet and satin. he used a bunch of richer fall colors, and some floral prints, as well as a damask/lace print.

in nicholas k’s show, a gorgeous collection but the colors were very dark and almost drab. his collection also included a lot of leather and fur with some fringe and draping, flowy materials.

finally in bcbgmaxazria there was a ton of color blocking as well as flowing materials, and fur.

over all i was completely pleased with the show collections that i viewed and i definitely think i’ll be looking to a few of these trends this coming fall.

jason wu for target launched yesterday, and, as you could imagine, it was insane to get a hold of just one piece, though i got three and over the next few days i’ll be modeling them to show you just what i got. of course, jason wu is going to be a big deal, especially when he comes out with a line such as this one, cute, springy, and available to everyone since targets are practically everywhere, it’s going to be an even larger deal. anyway, the first top i picked up is the sheer chiffon-y looking blouse in a gorgeous rosy pink with quirky white polka dots splattered about the top. puff sleeves the become tighter around the wrists with buttons at the wrists add a dressier touch. the extra layer of fabric cut off just across the bust is a fabulous touch as well. the blouse gives off an overall parisian look and is extremely girly.

so now we’re 3 days away from the first day of winter… let the layering begin! i was super excited to create this look, so, here goes.

for this look i did a cropped, printed sweater that definitely incorporates the alpine and oversized sweater trends into the outfit. then i added red leather high waisted shorts over the sweater. underneath the shorts i added some black printed tights for a warmer, more winter appropriate look. finally i added black boots with buckles wrapped around the entire length of the boot. more winter looks to come!
